Bar Termini
If you ever find yourself wandering the streets of Soho in London and craving an authentic Italian aperitivo with a classic European café vibe, Bar Termini is the place to stop. Tucked away at 7 Old Compton Street, London W1D 5JE, this intimate little gem brings a slice of Rome right into the heart of the city.
Bar Termini isn't your typical bar-it's small, stylish, and full of character. Think old-world charm with marble countertops, vintage glassware, and a sharply dressed staff who take their craft seriously. The space is tight, with limited seating, but that’s part of its charm. It invites conversation, whether you’re a solo traveler or catching up with a friend. It’s no surprise that Bar Termini consistently makes the list of best cocktail bars in London.
Let’s talk drinks-because that’s what Bar Termini is really known for. Their Aged Negroni is arguably the most talked-about drink on the menu, and for good reason. Aged in small bottles for added depth, this Negroni is smooth, balanced, and packed with complexity. If you’re more into something lighter and a touch sweeter, the Marsala Martini is a must-try-it’s elegant, slightly nutty, and beautifully presented.
Bar Termini also serves a stellar Bloody Mary, a Bellini that’s perfectly peachy, and a Manhattan that purists will appreciate. The Terroir cocktail, for the adventurous, offers earthy notes that nod to its name-something a bit different that stands out from your average cocktail list.
Bar Termini isn't just about cocktails. They also deliver an authentic Italian coffee experience that rivals some of the best espresso bars in the city. The Cappuccino, Caffe Shakerato, and Double Espresso are standouts. If you're looking to cool down, the Shakerato is bold and refreshing, while the Bicerin (a layered drink of espresso, chocolate, and cream) feels like dessert in a cup.
Coffee lovers often flock here not just for the taste but for the ritual-coffee is treated with the same reverence as their cocktails, right down to the last detail, including serving chocolate powder-dusted lattes in classic glassware.
While Bar Termini is drink-focused, they don’t skimp on the food. The Prosciutto E Funghi and Burrata with Prosciutto are simple yet satisfying plates that complement the drinks beautifully. It's the kind of menu that focuses on quality over quantity-just a few well-curated offerings that lean heavily on Italian ingredients and presentation.
It’s important to note that Bar Termini is not wheelchair accessible, and space is definitely limited, so don’t expect to roll in with a big group. That said, if you're looking for an intimate setting with a romantic feel-or just want to impress someone on a first date-this is the place.
The service is knowledgeable and friendly, and the bartenders are more than happy to explain the nuances behind each drink. Whether you're diving into their cocktail selection, trying a house-made limoncello, or just grabbing a quick latte, everything is served with intention and care.

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially in the evening.
-
Bar Termini doesn’t offer outdoor seating, so come prepared for an indoor, cozy experience.
-
They do not offer beer on tap, but the wine list is curated with Italian favorites, including lesser-known natural wines and crisp whites that pair beautifully with the food menu.
Bar Termini is ideal for anyone who appreciates classic cocktails, Italian culture, and a low-key, elegant setting. It's a great pick for cocktail enthusiasts, date nights, or even coffee lovers looking to level up their caffeine fix. If you’re searching for a Soho bar that feels like a secret, Bar Termini delivers a memorable experience in a space that values quality above all.
And yes, they do offer free water refills, which is a nice touch-especially when you’re making your way through a few Negronis.
Reviews
Bar Termini is exceptional. It came highly recommended by friends and really didn’t disappoint. We waited around 15 minutes at 6pm on a Friday to get a standing spot at the bar (the doorman was very friendly, though). Attentive service, delicious prosciutto, negronis to die for. Make sure you try the House. Thanks for a great start to an evening. Will be returning.
Tremendously fun Italian-run cocktail bar. Great music, very good drinks, happy staff.
Small intimate bar. We queued on a Thursday and they quickly found us a table after 15 mins or so standing outside. Very friendly and attentive staff.
It is the best bar in London for sure! Atmosphere, service and quality drinks are top notch! I don’t usually drink Negroni but this is something else!!! Don’t miss out when in Soho. Make sure you also try parma ham and coffe!
